English Espresso

Just like espresso, which is a strong black coffee, my grasp of the English language is equally strong, essentially because I adore it ever since.

I'm always writing, even when I'm not at my desk, scribbling essays, features, academic and technical papers, letters, even dabbling in slogan-writing. But what I love doing the most is being poetic even in prose, as if I am slipping into reverie. Dreams come alive, flowers bloom, birds sing when I put my nonsensical Shakespearean thoughts into words. That's gallons of creative juices squeezed out of my humble brain, usually done during late nights.

I also talk a lot. I mean, a whole lot of things, a wide array of mundane and serious stuff, like I can talk to a friend or anybody about anything under the sun, including his/her love life, if he/she wants to share it, of course. I am a patient listener, so no worries. Real life stories are as interesting as the books I have read.

In my spare time, I turn into a voracious, yet silent, reader, consuming every great work of literature I can lay my hands on in my growing library. George Orwell, J. K. Rowling, J. D. Salinger, Haruki Murakami, Vladimir Nabokov, Albert Camus, Khaled Hosseini, Harper Lee, and Gabriel Garcia Marquez are some of the literary giants I want to emulate, and whose work I devour like it is food.

So, that's how much I truly love the English language. It is a powerful tool in our everyday life.
